“Dalma-Sona” Foundation Chairman Ruzanna Ghazaryan posted on Facebook, “Several minutes ago Armnews said that the residents of Armavir and Ararat Regions will be supplied irrigation water free of charge in gravity this week.”
The irrigation water will be provided from Yerevan Lake.
In regard with our numerous enquiries regarding Yerevan Lake, the city administration replied that Yerevan Lake is so polluted that it can’t be used.
TWO Questions to Yerevan Mayor and Mrs. Karine Danielyan, Chairman of Environmental Committee by Yerevan Mayor:
1. If Yerevan Lake is polluted (also with heavy metals), how can you allow orchards and vegetables to be irrigated with this water?
2. If Yerevan Lake is not polluted, why is the lake not used as eco-tourism-resort-recreation zone for public?
