The business entity having constructed an illegal fish farm in the administrative area of Goght Community, Kotayq Region, has submitted a project on receiving a water intake permit for its further operation, as Kotayq Regional Head Romanos Petrosyan informed.

“The competent body has both initiated proceedings and appointed expert assessment. Both the local government head and Environmental and Mining Inspection Head have imposed administrative fines, afterwards the business entity has submitted a project to receive a water intake permit. If the project contradicts the environmental standards and the water intake permit is not issued, then it is subject to dismantling, otherwise it will be legalized,” Kotayq Regional Head noted in response to Armenian Environmental Front Initiative member Levon Galstyan’s FB post that the competent bodies don’t possess any information on the activities of the illegally constructed fish farm.

Reminder: Armenian Environmental Front Initiative beat an alarm signal on 28 March that there are ponds constructed in the Azat riverbed.

In reply, RA Nature Protection Ministry disseminated a clarification on the alarm signal about the ponds constructed in the Azat Riverbed on 29 March saying the fish farm was illegally constructed in the administrative area of Goght community without having a relevant permit. The land owner was fined in the amount of 100,000 AMD for illegal change the expediency of the land area.
