Inspection Didn't Detect Leaks out of Teghout Tailing Dump

On 22 January the employees of Lori Territorial Division of Nature Protection and Soil Inspection Body of RA Nature Protection Ministry visited the area of the tailing dump of ‘Teghout’ CJSC. Under the initial examinations, no crack on the dam or any other accidental situation has been detected, as well as no leak out of the tailing dump into environment has been detected. Taking into consideration the sonority and the significance of the raised matter, the employees of Nature Protection and Soil Inspection Body carried out additional sampling from the Debed River to find out in the lab whether or not there any hazardous substances in the river, as the press release disseminated by Nature Protection and Soil Inspection Body says.

The Armenian Environmental Front published a video and photos on 19 January, which showed the toxic water flowing out of the area of Teghout mine.
