Based on the article published by EcoLur entitled 'Alarm Signal: Wastewater from Nahatak Tailing Dump Flowing into Debed River', RA Environmental and Mining Inspection Body has carried out investigations in 'Akhtala OPC' CJSC. The inspection body has found out that the wash water flowing out of combine tailing dump flow into the Debed 'without violations' while the orchards of Shnogh residents beating the alarm signal are polluted not with the combine wash water. Acting Inspection Body Head Igor Sargsyan's letter addressed to EcoLur says, 'In line with water use permit no. 000365 issued by RA Nature Protection Ministry, the company is permitted to direct industrial wastewater to the Debed River after mechanical cleaning. In the course of the examinations, the wash water from Nahatak Tailing Dump owned by 'Akhtala OPC' CJSC near Ayrum Village was flowing into the Debed River in line with water use permit no. 000365.

It has also been found out that the orchard owned by Shnogh community resident Arayik Babayan, as well as the orchards located nearby are irrigated from the water system supplying water to 'SalEnergo' SHPP, which doesn't have any relation to the wash water of Nahatak Tailing Dump owned by 'Akhtala OPC' CJSC.

Under the water use permit, the company annually takes from the Debed River 2217.6 thousand cum water and 486.72 cum thousand water from the Akhtala Tributary to the Debed River. The permissible volumes of the wastewater flowing into the water resources or their drainage basins are as follows:

- Industrial wastewater/Debed River - annually 1987.2 thousand cum,

- Akhtala Tributary of Debed River – 2 km up to the estuary/industrial wastewater – annually 2.16 thousand cum,

Akhtala Tributary of Debed River – 4km up to the estuary/industrial wastewater – annually 21.6 thousand cum.
