Of 31 communities in Tumanyan Region none has a normal trash dump. The community halls gather household garbage wherever they want. For example, Alaverdi Community Hall dumps it into the Debed River. The driver of the garbage-removal truck belonging to Akhtala Community (see the photo) assured us on 22 September that the garbage hills along the road running from Akhtala to Shamlough Town was dumped by “Metal Prince” Company in Akhtala.
The Akhtala Community Hall dumps the household garbage of Akhtala Community from the front of Alaverdi’s former administration building into the Debed River by its own car. This is the very place where the garbage-removal trucks belonging to “Barekargum” LLC of the Alaverdi Town Hall dump the household garbage into the river several times a day.
