On 15 April in the Syunik region was opened the administrative building of “Shikahogh” state preservation. The RA Ministry of Nature Protection together with the Armenian Branch of the world nature fund realizes a project titled “Preservation of biological varieties and development of community: the implementation of the project of preservation of South Armenian Ecological region”.
The project has been launched in 2007 by the financial support of Norway.
The reporter of Aysor.am reports from the Stunik region that on the opening ceremony of the administrative building of the preservation will be present the minister of the RA Nature Protection Aram Harutyunyan, the Governer of Syunik region Suren Khachatryan, honored consul of Norway to Armenia Tim Straight, director of the Armenian branch of the World Fund of Nature Karen Manvelyan, director of the “Red Soil” state preservation Ruben Mkrtchyan.
“It’s difficult to work without an administrative building, and today it will be a center for both the Grove of Plane trees and the state preservation of Zangezur,” Ruben Mkrtchyan stated.
During the event the nature preservation departments of Vayots Dzor, Gegharkunik and Syunik regions were given 3 cars, digital cameras, clothes, tents, and rucksacks.
