On 26 June the working group of the Center for Ecological Noosphere Studies of NAS RA started working on the arsenic waste cemetery generated due to the former Ore Processing Combine's operation in Alaverdi. "The drainage system in the cemetery is not isolated which means arsenic and other toxic elements in the cemetry will be absorbed together with rain water to lower layers and, eventually, will appear in the Lalvar river, then into the Debed River," said Director of the Center for Ecological Noosphere Studies of NAS RA Armen Saghatelyan.

The second danger is dust may contain hazardous substances including arsenic and wind may spread these hazardous substances in the surroundings.
