"Copper" LLC is again trying to get a permit for the construction of a copper smelter at Acharyan 2 dead alley, Avan administrative district in Yerevan. The company has submitted to RA Ministry of Environment the application for the preliminary assessment of the impact on the environment of the planned smelting site. The second public discussion of the application is scheduled for on July 28 at 11:00, at the residence of Head of Avan administrative district, Yerevan.
The company is expected to source metal aluminum and copper, as well as bronze and brass castings from scrap on site. According to the new application, the production capacity is planned to be 900 tons per year instead of the previous 1800 tons: the previous application was rejected by Yerevan Municipality and RA Environment Ministry "Environmental Impact Expert Assessment Center" SNCO.
