The Information and Public Relations Department of Yerevan Municipality circulated a press release on 16 February, which says, “We would like to inform that the words attributed to Mayor were distorted with obvious deliberateness out of any context.” During the meeting public initiative representatives assured that the installation of temporary buildings is carried out without having any appropriate documents, which is a violation of the law, while Mayor Taron Margaryan assured that these works are conducted in the frames of law in accordance with approved and agreed urban development documents. Nevertheless, this statement was not satisfactory for the initiative representatives and they insisted on the violation of the law. In reply to these statements, Mayor Taron Margaryan has proposed to bring an action to court and try legal compliance in court.
