On January 18, 2024, the executive approved the draft of RA law "On ratifying the financial contract between the Republic of Armenia and the European Investment Bank "Yerevan's second phase of energy efficiency" signed on November 29, 2023.
On November 29, 2023, the Republic of Armenia and the European Investment Bank signed the financial agreement "Yerevan's second phase of energy efficiency" worth 25 million Euros. For the purpose of co-financing the project, an investment grant of 10.1 million euros will be involved from the EU neighborhood investment platform.
As a result of the implementation of the project, it will be possible to reduce energy consumption in 38 public buildings, 6 polyclinics and 32 kindergartens. The project is expected to reduce the cost of electricity, improve seismic safety, improve the comfort and quality of life of visitors, reduce carbon dioxide emissions, and extend the life of renovated buildings.
