What projects have the sums received as a result of the additional water intake carried out in 2008, 2012, 2014, 2017 been directed to? 'EcoLur' Informational NGO has addressed this and other questions in writing to Arthur Grigoryan, Minister for Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources. The enquiry sent by EcoLur asks:
'Before the revolution, at the governmental sitting on 28 December 2017, RA Minister for Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources stated that according to RA Law 'On Approving Annual and Complex Programs for Recovery, Conservation, Reproduction and Use of Lake Sevan Ecosystem', the companies of the energetic system have generated additional profit from the sale of electricity produced at the expense of the additional water intake from Lake Sevan exceeding the statutory limit of 170 million cum.
'International Energetic Corporation' and 'ENA' CJSCs will transfer additionally-made profit to an account, where the financial means having generated from the additional water intake will be managed. Under Ashot Manukyan, two companies have already transferred 1 billion 650 million AMD, while the ministry shall submit the directions of the expenses for the approval of the ministry.
We would like to ask you to inform:
- How many kWph additional electricity was produced in 2017 as a result of the additional water intake of 100 million cum from Lake Sevan?
- Whether RA Ministry for Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources has opened an extra-budgetary account for this extra profit?
- Whether RA Ministry for Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources has submitted the directions of the expenses of additional profit for the approval of the government: what kind of investment programs these funds have been spent on?
- How many kWph additional electricity was produced individually in 2008, 2012, 2014 from the additional water intake from Lake Sevan and how much additional profit was generated each time, what kind of projects these funds had been spent on?'
