Western NPP With Russian Equipment

Western NPP With Russian Equipment

Serzh Sargsyan called on Italy to take part in the construction of the Armenian NPP. Earlier he had made a similar appeal to France. Last week, he called the session of the Nuclear Energy Council and informed that France, in principle, is not against this idea, but it does not want to build the NPP but only to provide equipment. Anyway, Russia also promised to provide equipment, and Serzh Sargsyan said equipment can be combined. It is true that he hardly knows how to do it. Technical complementary somewhat differs from the political one.

Which Western country will agree to build the NPP in Armenia if it is already known that the equipment will be Russian? There are parameters of combination of equipments and a non-specialist can say that the NPP needs a definite type of equipment.

Italy which has considerable experience in NPP construction has not yet reacted to Serzh Sargsyan’s appeal. Perhaps, it is waiting for a new tender, in which Russia’s participation will not be defined beforehand.
