Fish Species in Sevan Reducing, Waterlogging in Progress

Several days ago, it turned out that the budget of Nature Protection Ministry for 2012 is 1.8 billion AMD. The budget doesn’t significantly differ from the last year’s budget. Out of 1.9 billion AMD, 944.9 million AMD will be directed to wastes examination, 60 million AMD to increasing fish reserves and 125 million AMD for cleaning territories.

At the end of each year Nature Protection Minister informs how much young fish was let out into the lake, nevertheless, environmentalists assure there is almost no fish in Lake Sevan. According to Environmentalist Silva Adamyan, the whitefish is slowly getting disappeared, small fish species get more and more which are not inherent to clean water.

Adamyan outlined the self-cleaning of the lake is not observed, which is explained by increase in water resources and shore waterlogging.
