In case of deliberate concealment or deliberate misrepresentation of the environment, the person will no longer be subject to criminal liability if the new draft of the Criminal Code is adopted.   "Instead of thinking about enforcing environmental protection legislation, they are doing the opposite," Michael Nahapetyan, a member of Citizens' Decision party, posted on his Facebook page.

Lusine Martirosyan, Head of Information and Public Relations Department at Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia, responded to his post. "If necessary, appropriate amendments and supplements may be made to the draft."  The new draft Code of Criminal Procedure addresses “other crimes against population health” in Article 399 of Chapter 41, which however establishes criminal liability only if the concealment or distortion of information has negligently caused serious or moderate serious harm to human health.
