Arsenic Graveyard to be Restored Completely

Hetq

The Center for Ecological Noosphere Studies Director Armen Saghatelyan, who has administered the implementation of “Safe Environment” project, i.e. assessment of toxic elements leak from the arsenic graveyard, informed that the arsenic graveyard in Alaverdi has serious problems. Besides the graveyard itself, dozens of years mining processes have been in progress in the surroundings and there are such dumps that can be a source of leaking dangerous elements. “I would like to draw Mayor’s attention to these dumps as they can pose a serious threat to the Debed River. These dumps mainly pollute the Madan River, which is one of the tributaries to the Debed River”.
