Construction of “Military Secret Objects” in Mashtots Park

The problem of locating boutiques in Mashtots Park reached to nonsense.  The construction is carried out under the protection of tens of policemen. The protection of the structures in progress is conducted at high level, i.e. by Deputy Chief Police. The works were resumed at night, and workers managed to fix the construction and put glasses of future boutiques till the dawn. 

On 21 February the State Environmental Inspection of Nature Protection Ministry of Armenia observed the constructions very cautiously, besides activists and press. In reply to EcoLur’s question, Inspection Deputy Head Marzpet Qamalyan said that “”they came to have a preliminary look.”

It should be mentioned that the site of the territory occupied by boutiques exceed 1500 square meters, while its project was not submitted for environmental impact assessment and didn’t have public hearings. The State Environmental Inspection should have already carried out certain examinations and drawn up an act on violations made. We would like to remember when State Environmental Inspection fined oligarchs for violations and development of green zones, but we were not able to.
