'EcoLur' Informational NGO condemns the actions of the Armenian Police towards 'Haykakan Zhamanak' newspaper journalist Hayk Gevorgyan. We think that police explanations and attempts to give legal nature to journalist's persecution is not-substantiated.
The fact that on 6 January the restraint imposed on Hayk Gevorgyan was changed and he was released, doesn't calm us down and only points out that the police just didn't want to stay under the burden of criticism. We think those people having ordered to detain the journalist and signed arrest warrant must bear responsibility.
