Armenia has refused from the rest of the Russian loan for the implementation of the lifetime extension of the second power unit of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant. Suren Papikyan, RA Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, informed about this at the joint sitting of RA National Assembly Standing Committees on June 8 during the discussion of the report on the execution of the 2019 state budget.

'Delays in time are obvious. In the last year, the issue of extending the loan repayment period and providing new grace periods has been actively discussed, but it did not happen. Thus, the Armenian side refused from this loan and will attract its own resources. We have agreements with Rosatom to continue the work, which will be carried out in accordance with Armenia's internal procedures," Suren Papikyan said.

He noted that Armenian specialists will have the opportunity to be involved in the implementation of the program.
