EcoLur has released a new video titled “Armenia’s Green Wealth: In Pursuit of Wild Harvests.”
Produced within the framework of "Living Landscapes for Market Development in Armenia" (LILA) project, the video showcases residents and businesses engaged in wild plant harvesting across four regions of Armenia: Lori, Tavush, Vayots Dzor, and Syunik.
This film presents several inspiring success stories of individuals who have chosen to stay in their villages and turn nature’s resources into sustainable income, create new job opportunities, and contribute to the socio-economic development of their communities.
Featured in the video are: Manik and Mariam Yeganyan from Dsegh village, Lori region, who established “Loreni” herbal tea brand and tea house. In Khachik village, Vayots Dzor, Eka Horstka, co-founder of “One Handful,” a border eco-villages initiative, brought together local women to produce rosehip and grape molasses (doshab). In Shaghat, Syunik Region, a rural cooperative founded through the efforts of community head Tigran Khachatryan stands out for its unique approach and long-term operations in Armenia.
Thanks to the support of the LILA project, these initiatives received assistance in branding, and their wild-harvested plants and doshab were packaged and brought to market.
This video was produced within "Living Landscapes for Market Development in Armenia" (LILA) project, which is funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and implemented by WWF-Armenia in partnership with Strategic Development Agency (SDA) NGO.
