Soil Damage Exceeds 3 Billion AMD – Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body

In the first half of 2025, as a result of state supervision measures carried out in the field of land use and protection by Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body, 99 violations were recorded.

As a result:

  • 32 administrative fines were applied,

  • fines amounting to a total of 3,390,000 AMD were imposed.

The environmental damage caused amounted to 3,117,053,733 AMD.

A total of 52 reports were sent to law enforcement bodies, of which:

  • 12 cases concerned soil pollution, which caused more than 2.6 billion AMD worth of damage to the environment,

  • 40 cases concerned soil degradation, with damage estimated at about 141.9 million AMD.
