Discussion Held on Ongoing Preparations for the 17th Conference of the Parties (COP 17) to Convention on Biological Diversity

A meeting dedicated to the ongoing preparations for the organization and implementation of the 17th Conference of the Parties (COP 17) to the Convention on Biological Diversity was held at the Ministry of Environment.

The meeting was attended by representatives from more than forty non-governmental organizations active in the environmental sector. The discussion was led by Hambardzum Matevosyan, Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister and member of the COP 17 Organizing Committee, along with Aram Meymaryan, Deputy Minister of Environment.
 
An active exchange of views took place during the meeting, with participants voicing their observations and suggestions regarding the effective engagement of civil society in the process.
 
The discussion unfolded in a constructive atmosphere, with particular emphasis placed on the importance of effective cooperation between civil society organizations and government institutions for the successful organization of the conference.
