On 11 May such NGOs as “Armenian National Committee of Helsinki Citizens Assembly”, “Protection of Rights without Borders”, “Anticorruption Center Transparency International”, “Asbarez” Club of Journalists”, “Vanadzor Office of Helsinki Citizens Assembly,” OSI Armenia, “We Plus”, “Sphere of Education”, “The Committee for Protecting Freedom of Expression”, “The Cooperation Center for Democracy”, “Journalists for Future” circulated a statement, which particularly says, “The parliamentary elections held in Armenia on 6 May 2012, unfortunately, can’t serve as an impulse for the factual democratic processes and can’t witness the political will of the authorities in regard with reforming electoral institutions. We, the representatives of the civic society, involved in the process of developing democracy and human rights, are deeply concerned with continuously improving mechanisms of marring elections in Armenia and with the unlawfulness of the persons applying these mechanisms. We think that as a result of another default of international obligations on democratic reforms undertaken by Armenia, international and local organizations should make the proper conclusions.” Then the statement refers to the mandatory publication of electors’ lists having taken part in the elections on 6 May 2012. “This is the main step that can prove the political will of the authorities and to recover the real picture of the elections,” the statement says.
