On 18 June the presentation of 'Theory and Practice of Sustainable Development (World Process and Armenia)' book designed for HEIs authored by Karine Danielyan, Lilit Sargsyan and Tigran Sargsyan. This book is dedicated to the desire and experiences of policy to change the crisis situation arising from global processes. The book was presented by Karine Danielyan, Chairman of 'For Sustainable Human Development' NGO.
In his interview with EcoLur Karine Danielyan mentioned that Armenia hasn't approached sustainable development in either economic, or environmental or social fields. 'We develop virtual programs, adopt virtual laws, while the reality goes in the opposite direction. An oligarchic system has been formed, which, in its essence, completely opposes to the ideas of sustainable development,' she said.
Soil management, urban development and SHPPs: in Karine Danielyan's opinion, these are main factors making obstacle to sustainable development. ‘We have positive world experience, which should definitely be applied. For example, there are individual attempts for solar energy and organic agriculture in Armenia, which should also be publicized,' she said.
