Former Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia and board member of the “Civil Contract” party, Gnel Sanosyan, has been appointed the Government’s representative in the company “Lydian Armenia.” Sanosyan confirmed this in a conversation with journalists, noting: “I was appointed recently-a few days ago.”
Reminder: Gnel Sanosyan served as Governor of Gegharkunik Region in 2018–2021 and as Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure in 2021–2024.
By Government Decision No. 81-A of January 18, 2024, “On Accepting Shares as a Donation”, 12.5% of the shares of “Lydian Armenia” CJSC were transferred to the Government of Armenia.
“Lydian Armenia” is preparing to operate the Amulsar gold mine. Construction of the Amulsar project infrastructure was halted in 2018 due to protests by local residents and civil society, but resumed in August 2025.
