As it became known to EcoLur, on 16 November one person died in the underground galleries of Shahumyan gold-polymetallic deposit developed by Deno Gold Mining Company. An ad hoc committee has been established according to the actual fact of the death. The cause of the death is being investigated.
Local “For Ensuring Ecological Security and Developing Democracy” organization is conducting its own investigation. The organizations pays special attention to the site of the employee’s death, as it’s known that the court of general jurisdiction in Syunik Marz banned underground and overground work in the territory of Shahumyan Village located in the zone of ore mining with the motivation of the threat to human life and health. According to unchecked information, by an internal order Deno Gold Mining Company prohibited provision of information till the official statement to be made by the company.
