It became known from several sources in Lori Region that the administration of Akhtala Ore Dressing Combine will soon be changed. And that Madeline Tashyan, who replaces her husband at the combine, Serob Ter-Poghosyan, serving his time in prison charged with pedophilia, intends to sell the shares of Metal Prince. A question: what will these changes bring to? “Metal Prince Ltd” Corporation owned by Serob Ter-Poghosyan started its operations in Armenia in 2000 having registered three subsidiaries in the offshore zone, Nevis Island, - ‘Akhtala Ore Dressing Combine’ CJSC, “Sagamar” CJSC and “Molybdenum World” CJSC. And respectively the company obtained the right to develop Shamlukh copper mine (affiliated with Ashtala Ore Dressing Combine), Armanis gold-polymetallic mine (affiliated with Sagamar Ore Dressing Combine) and Dastakert copper and molybdenum mine. In 2007 Russian Neva-Rus Company went in and gradually obtained from Metal Prince the shares of all three enterprises. No details about the transactions are available. Besides, “Neva-Rus” Company purchased from the other Russian company GeoProMining its Georgian assets – “Madneuli” and “Quartzite” enterprises. It’s worth mentioning that in Armenia GeoProMining works at largest Sotq gold mine and Agarak copper and molybdenum mine. All these years Neva-Rus Company declared to be an investment company, which means that it doesn’t bear any responsibility for environmental destruction caused by the enterprises. Whether Neva-Rus Company intends to activate its operations in Akhtala? Or a completely new owner will appear (Armenian President’s brother’s name, Sashik Sargsyan, is mentioned) is still unknown. But nobody doubts that changes will come.
