

Another meeting of the COP17 Organizing Committee was held, during which organizational and logistical issues related to the Conference were discussed.
The meeting was chaired by the Minister of Environment of the Republic of Armenia and Chair of COP17 Organizing Committee, Hambardzum Matevosyan. The meeting was attended by representatives of state authorities who are members of the committee established by the Prime Minister’s decision for the organization and hosting of the 17th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17). Victoria Burnazyan, Deputy President of “EcoLur” Informational NGO, also participated in the meeting.

During the meeting, participants reviewed the progress of preparations for COP17, clarified upcoming steps, and discussed the distribution of tasks among various state bodies and responsible institutions.
“Effective organization of COP17 requires not only political will, but also thorough organizational work, strict adherence to timelines, and close cooperation among all involved institutions. At this stage, our priority is to develop a clear action plan and ensure the proper allocation of responsibilities,” Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan stated.
As a result of the discussions, concrete steps were outlined and agreements were reached aimed at ensuring the efficient implementation of the COP17 Conference organization process.
