On August 31, 2025, a fire broke out in the Amulsar area, as Jermuk resident Shirak Buniatyan posted on Facebook, as well as published a video.
"A short while ago, I was informed that there was a large fire near Amulsar. I went to the site to understand the situation. At that moment, the areas directly above the village of Saralanj, at the foot of Amulsar, were burning. I tried to learn the cause from people gathered on the roadside. One person, whom I do not know and whose face I did not see clearly in the dark, said that according to his information, the fire broke out during welding works in Amulsar.
I do not know this person and cannot confirm the accuracy of what he said, but one thing was clear—the fire was spreading from the top downward. It was hard to see in the dark how large the burned area was, but it was clear that it was very extensive. Electric poles had burned and were still burning. Hopefully, the competent authorities will identify the real cause of this fire and hold those responsible accountable. There are many juniper trees with red berries in those areas, and as far as I understood, the pastures of those villages had burned and were still burning. The fire continues," he wrote.
It should be noted that as of now, there is no information about the fire on the official website or Facebook page of the Jermuk Municipality. There is also no information on the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Rescue Service.
Jermuk Municipality told EcoLur that they have no information regarding the fire. EcoLur also tried to contact the press office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Rescue Service, but has not yet received a response. New information will be published as it becomes available.
