At its session on August 28, 2025, the Government of the Republic of Armenia approved the draft presidential decree “On Approval of Grant Letter Agreement between the Republic of Armenia and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development for Preparation of Environmental Remediation and Regeneration Program of ‘Nairit’ Plant.”
The International Bank for Reconstruction and Development intends to provide a grant of USD 1.5 million, which will be directed to the implementation of decontamination works of equipment and chemical waste present at “Nairit” chemical plant. The purpose of the activity is to improve the environmental condition of the plant’s territory, as well as to reduce risks threatening public health.
The works to be carried out within the framework of the grant will include four components.
