The area of Alaverdi Copper Smelting Plant located in Alaverdi Town, Lori Region, is contaminated with heavy metals in a radius of 3 km, and their concentration exceed MPCs by 20-40 times. As “GEO ALAVERDI: ENVIRONMENT AND TOWN DEVELOPMENT” published in 2009, the concentrations copper and lead exceeded the MPCs. The copper concentration in soil exceeded MPC by 32.3 times and lead – 16.0. As a result, copper concentration in the soil made up 96.9 μg/kg and lead - 56 μg/kg,
