Excessive Concentration of Chromium and Vanadium Caused Disastrous Condition in Hrazdan River Basin

EcoLur

The excessive concentrations of chromium and vanadium caused disastrous condition in Hrazdan River basin. Under the annual report by “Environmental Impact Monitoring Center” SNCO for 2012, the average annual concentration of aluminum in the samples taken from Hrazdan River basin exceeded MPC by 2,5 times, chromium – 6.6, copper – 4.8, selenium – 2.9, vanadium – 21.5 times. Thus, the concentration of aluminum in the river made up 100 μg/l, chromium – 330, copper – 48, selenium – 29, vanadium – 215 μg/l.

Under EcoLur’s Ecological Risk Model, the disastrous condition of Hrazdan River basin is conditioned with excessive concentrations of chromium and vanadium.
