Aluminum High Concentration Caused Critical Condition in Pambak River

EcoLur

High pollution with aluminum has been observed in the sections of Pambak River upwards Hartagyugh, Spitak Town, Vanadzor Town and in the estuary of the Martziget River. Under the annual report by “Environmental Impact Monitoring Center” SNCO for 2012, in these sections of the river the average annual concentration of aluminum exceeded the MPC up to 19.4 times, nitrite ion – 6.3, zinc – 1.1, selenium – 1.5, and iron  - 1.1 times. Thus, the average annual concentration of aluminum in the river made up 776 mcg/l, nitrite ion – 0.063 mcg/l, zinc – 70mcg/l, selenium – 15 mcg/l, and iron – 0.275 mcg/l. Under EcoLur’s Ecological Risk Model, such high concentration of aluminum causes critical condition in these sections of the river.
