The Hakhum River flows in Tavush Region, Armenia. It’s the right tributary to the Kura River in Azerbaijan. It rises in the northern slopes of Miapor mountain range. Its length is 71 km and catchment area – 352 sq. meters. Its length in Armenia is 41.5 km, while catchment area is 248 sq. meters.
As of 1 January 2014, under the licenses issued by Public Services Regulatory Committee and the main indicators of small hydro power plants operated by hydropower companies, “Sirarpi” SHPP is constructed on this river, which is operated by “SIRARPI AH” LLC, derivation length – 120.0, 1962.0, 684.0 meters.
