The Agstev is a transboundary river: its length is 133 km, the length in the territory of Armenia is 99 km and flows into the Kura River. The Aghstev River starts from Pambak mountains, it feeds mainly from snow melting and rain water. More famous tributaries are Getik and Voskepar. In Azerbaijan the Aghstev River is called “Aghstafachay”.
As of 1 Jenuary 2014, under the licenses issued by Public Services Regulatory Committee, the following SHPPs are constructed on this river:
- “Ijevan” SHPP operated by “Ijevan HPP” LLC, derivation length – 72*2 (144 meters),
- “Aghstev-1” SHPP operated by “LNX” LLC, derivation length – 2465 meters, 2963 meters,
The SHPPs pipe a total river area of 5572 meters, which makes up 5.6282828% of the river.
