The Goght River flows in Ararat Region. It rises from the western slopes of the central part of Geghama Mountains and forms the Azat River joining the Voskejur River on the river. Its length is 16 km.
As of 1 January 2014, under the licenses issued by Public Services Regulatory Committee and the main indicators of small hydro power plants operated by hydropower companies, the following SHPPs are constructed on this river:
- “Goght-1” SHPP operated by “JAGHATSI DZOR” LLC, derivation length – 3850 meters,
- “Goght-2” SHPP operated by “JAGHATSI DZOR” LLC, derivation length – 2050meters.
The SHPPs pipe a total river area of 5900 meters, which makes up 36.875% of the river.
