Merciless elimination of forests in Armenia still continues. On 30 August EcoLur Monitoring Group visited Kotayk Region. Saws and axes keep on working in the forest located near warm springs (See photos). When the young man noticed EcoLur Group, he ran away. We eye witnessed stumps of freshly cut down trees. The territory was evidently not controlled. It should be noted the Center for Forest Monitoring, responsible for controlling illegal felling, has no hot line, and nobody knows how you can inform about violations. We consider this material as a S.O.S alarm signal sent to Monitoring Center.
