

"Georaid" CJSC's environmental impact assessment report of Mutsq gold mining has reached the last 4th stage of public discussion. The discussion is scheduled for 12:00, December 20, 2022, at the residence of Administrative Head of Mutsq settlement of Sisian community, Syunik Region.
From the administrative point of view, Mutsq gold mine is included in the boundaries of the Mutsq settlement of Sisian consolidated community, 28 km from Sisian Town.
The construction of the open pit will last 7 months, the operation duration of the open pit will make up 18.5 years. Ore reserves make up 2736.9 thousand tons, out of which gold reserves account to 3605.0 kg, silver reserves are 5730.8 kg. The annual productivity of the open pit in terms of commodity ore is 150.0 thousand tons, mineral losses are 2.2%, impoverishment is 3.7%.
The ore is reported to be sulphide. The gold content in the ore ranges from 0.40 to 4.5 g/t with an average of 1.5-1.6 g/t. No radioactive minerals were found in the ore. The area occupied by the open pit is 61.8 hectares, and the area of the landfill is 45.5 hectares.
It is noted that the project of the enrichment plant and tailings dump will be presented with a separate environmental impact assessment document in accordance with RA legislation.
As a result of mining operations, the dust emission from the open surface of the landfill will amount to 1.97 tons/year. 3969 boreholes are subject to blasting annually, the amount of dust generated from which will be 29.42 tons/year.
