The statement says: “In response to certain publications circulating in electronic media regarding ‘toxic acid rains,’ we inform that ‘Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center’ SNCO of Environment Ministry conducts qualitative monitoring of atmospheric precipitation at the Amberd monitoring station.

According to the study of the qualitative composition of atmospheric precipitation recorded on March 7-8, no changes were observed in the acidity level or in the anionic and cationic composition of the precipitation. We would also like to add that over the next 10 days, airflows over the territory of Iran are moving from west to east, meaning that air masses are shifting from Iran toward Turkmenistan.”
