Alarm Signal: Storks with Polluted Feathers, Deprived of Any Opportunity to Fly Targeted by Dogs in Hovtashen

Storks with contaminated feathers are attacked by dogs in Hovtashen community, Ararat Region: citizen Mareta Hovhannisyan who visited Hovtashen in Ararat Region has beaten an alarm signal to EcoLur.

“The storks could not fly, so the dogs reached them and pulled them away. We managed to take the dogs away, but could not catch the storks to clean them. I thought of keeping them in the garage at night to protect them from the dogs, but I could not catch them. In the morning I cut bread and put it in front of them, but they did not approach. It is unbearable when you see the bird suffering, as if its wings had been cut off," Mareta Hovhannisyan noted.

This is one of the many alarm signals about stork contamination. It is already the second year that we are eye witnessing this catastrophic situation. Not only were the culprits not identified or punished last year, this year the same thing continues. The helpless state of storks speaks of the extreme pollution of the environment, which is a consequence of the impunity of the polluters. We are sending this alarm signal to the relevant bodies.
