Recently, M. Sayadyan, Director of Ijevan Dendropark of Reserve Park Complex of Environment Ministry, submitted an application to Prime Minister's Office stating that several dozen rare species of trees, including those red-listed in Armenia are drying up in Ijevan Dendropark. Noting that the reason for the drying of the trees is the construction works carried out by "Ijevan Wine and Brandy Factory" CJSC on the Aghstev riverbed, as a result of which the irrigation water does not reach the dendropark.
The Environmental Inspection Body found out that "Green Symphony" LLC, which leased 84946 sq.m. belonging to Ijevan Dendropark, used the land plot in violation of the clauses of the contract. While carrying out construction works in the area, the company installed 7 pavilions.
The company took water from Aghstev River without a water use permit: the water intake point was not equipped with a fish protection net and a fish passway. The company was subject to administrative liability in the amount of 450,000 AMD.
"Ijevan Wine, Brandy Factory" CJSC, operating in the vicinity of Ijevan dendropark, carried out earthworks in the area of forest land, which resulted in land degradation, estimated environmental damage in the amount of 216,418 AMD, and was imposed a fine in the amount of 350,000 AMD, as Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body informs.
