

Over 50 projects will be discussed at the 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17), which will be held in Armenia from October 19 to 30, 2026, said RA Minister of Environment Hambardzum Matevosyan during a recent meeting of the COP17 organizing committee.
He presented the main and side events: COP17 is expected to be multi-layered, featuring summits of leaders, youth, cities, nature and culture, as well as a business forum, gender forum, and forums on science, technology, innovation, and finance, along with various side events.
The Blue Zone of COP17 has been designated at “Meridian” Expo Center, where construction and improvement works are currently underway. Members of the organizing committee, led by RA Minister of Environment, conducted a site visit to the Expo Center and reviewed the progress of the works.
The meeting of the COP17 organizing committee was also attended by Victoria Burnazyan, Vice President of “EcoLur” Informational NGO. Ongoing international processes under the COP17 presidency and completed activities were presented, and upcoming tasks were discussed during the session.
