In the morning of 28 August, new smoking spots emerged in 'Khoustoup' Reserve, a part of 'Zangezour Biospheric Complex' SNCO, and the smoke started activating towards the section of 'Dzagedzor' section. Currently, preventative works are in progress, as Armen Vardanyan, Head of Information and Public Relations Department of RA Nature Protection Ministry, informed EcoLur.

'On 27 August morning the fire was extinguished, then hot weather conditions promoted the emergence of new smoking spots. The burnt-down area is only grass-covered area, there is no forest,' Armen Vardanyan said.

The cause of the fire broken out in 'Khoustoup' Reserve is not known. Under the initial data, 100 ha of the grass-covered area has been burnt down.
