The other day it became known that the municipality is going to apply to the Government to recognize the 4th part of the Yerevan Ring Park as a public eminent domain and hand it over to the GreenRock Management company, which was established about a year ago, with the right of site development.
This resolution caused lots of fuss, it turned out that Yerevan's tennis courts, which have a history of at least 60 years, are also subject to demolition.
The deal will actually take place months after Mareta Gevorkyan, the founder of GreenRock Company, donated a large sum of money to Yerevan. According to Factor TV, Mareta Gevorkyan, who is also the owner of "Evokabank", donated more than 250 million AMD to Yerevan in order to repair a building belonging to the community. At that time, Deputy Mayor Tigran Avinyan told Factor TV that the donation was made without expectations or agreements.
