Residents of Yernjatap and Shoghakn Villages of Aparan Community Reject “North Invest” LLC’s Cement Plant Project
Today, public hearings were held in the Yernjatap and Shoghakn settlements of Aparan community, Aragatsotn Region, initiated by “North Invest” LLC in order to obtain the consent of the affected communities for establishing a cement plant.
Local residents rejected the company’s plan, noting that tourism, including ecotourism, is developing in Aparan community, major infrastructure projects are planned, and the settlements aim to become recreational zones-which requires preserving a clean environment.
Prior to the hearings, Yernjatap residents had organized a petition, joined by 169 residents against the project. Yernjatap’s administrative head, Hrachya Sahakyan, stated that he also supports the residents’ demand. The petition was handed over to Hrayr Mkrtchyan, Deputy Mayor of Aparan.
It should be noted that, according to the State Register of Legal Entities of the Ministry of Justice of Armenia, “North Invest” LLC was established in 2016. In the 2023 declaration on beneficial owners, the company was listed under a different name - “Areg Plus.”
In the 2025 declaration, the name “North Invest” was used. The sole owner of 100% of the company’s shares is Armenian citizen Vahan Asteyan.
