Eight towns in Armenia will join ''Earth Hour'' public campaign to be held on 19 March, which aims to gather the society, business, communities and other stakeholders around one idea – to switch off light for one hour for the preservation of vital resources in our planet.

EcoLur found out which towns having joined the Covenant of Mayors initiated by the EU will take part in this campaign: Yerevan, Spitak, Ashtarak, Artik, Gyumri, Dilijan and Hrazdan will join it. The participating towns will switch off their lights from 20:30 to 21:30 local time.

Towns having signed the covenant of the Mayors of the EU have undertaken commitments to reduce CO2 emissions by 20% by 2020.

EcoLur is also joining this initiative and is calling for all to save our resources and to promote the improvement of the environment.
