

The Human Rights Defender is summarizing the clarifications provided by relevant inspection bodies concerning issues raised by employees of Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine.
Reminder: on February 6, 2025, following the instructions of Ombudsman Anahit Manasyan, representatives of the Human Rights Defender's Office visited Syunik region to familiarize themselves on-site with the concerns expressed by the employees of the Combine.
In accordance with the Ombudsman's instruction, the raised concerns were documented and forwarded to the relevant inspection authorities.
As a result of the review of the obtained documents, Health and Labor Inspection of the Republic of Armenia initiated an administrative proceeding. It was revealed that several requirements set forth by applicable legal acts had been violated. In particular, these violations were related to workplace discrimination, ensuring employee safety, maintaining health and hygiene standards, working hours, and other related issues.
Health and Labor Inspection of the Republic of Armenia instructed the company to take appropriate corrective measures within 30 days to eliminate the violations.
On April 15, 2025, a responsible official of the company was subjected to administrative liability.
