The fact that on the same day, 18 December, at once three public hearings were held on mining projects bearing high risks for health and safety of people and environment, caused public concerns. The press release of “Trchkan Support”, “Trchkan” and “Jermuk Won’t Become a Mine” civic initiatives particularly says, “…This is the end of the world…We demand from Nature Protection Ministry to refrain from hastily held public hearings on pre-holiday days and making similar hasty decisions…”
Reminder: the day before EcoLur made a statement demanding to ensure the public right to information about projects and their participation in public hearings. We expect this call to be supported by other NGOs and initiatives.
