Caucasus Nature Fund (CNF) Armenia’s Coordinator Arman Vermishyan proposes to get rid of rangers and foresters from taxes and to apply RA Law “On Tax Reduction” towards them. At present this law refers to the certain category of workers – military servants and rescuers. In his talk with EcoLur Arman Vermishyan said, “Rangers, who protect the borders of reserves, have dangerous and difficult job. They control huge territories, and work extra, often at night.”
Their activities are connected with risks for life. The fact this provision of the law covers military servants and rescuers is clear, but rangers and foresters should also be included. We not only to propose to include them in the provisions of the law, but also to exempt them from the tax deducted from their salaries, which they get from the state budget. For example, the rangers of “Khosrov Forest” and “Shikahogh” reserves get their salaries at the expense of the CNF funds,” Vermishyan said.
