How businesses treat public hearings can be made sure by watching the video about the second public hearings on “Gndevanq” SHP project, which was held in Yerevan on 22 March ( target="_blank">).  Reminder: the project has been submitted for the public hearings by “BSB” company. The first time the company mentioned an invalid address for the public hearings, the second time the company representatives didn’t turn up for the hearings, and eventually, on 5 February 2013 the first public hearings were conducted in Jermuk town(http://www.ecolur.org/hy/news/water/demanding-to-turn-down-vgndevanqv-shp-in-jermuk/4578/).

On 22 March in the course of the second hearings it became clear that neither the project developer not the owner took into consideration the main remarks and comments made on 5 February.

Expert-hydrotechnician Chobanyan: “You should have given an assignment on drafting the project.”

“BSB” company owner, Ex Vayots Dzor Regional Governor Sergey Bagratyan, “We made it.”

Expert Karine Movsisyan: Where are the papers?

S. Bagratyan: We gave an oral assignment, and the project developer fulfilled it.

Chobanyan: You are not entitled to give an oral one.

S. Bagratyan: Who said that?

Chobanyan: The law says it.

S. Bagratyan: You badly know laws.

Chobanyan: I didn’t come here to argue. If you don’t hand me a document on assignment, it means it doesn’t exist.

S. Bagratyan:  What is your profession?

Chobanyan: A hydrotechnician.

S. Bagratyan: Then talk about hydrotechnics.

Chobanyan: The project has been drafted carelessly. And even the client hasn’t been mentioned. Such projects should be submitted for opinion.

Bagratyan: So submit it, who disturbs you…

etc.

S. Bagratyan: Last year our country sold SHP-generated energy for 90 million USD to Iran...The country got money, but, unfortunately, this money flew to the pockets of very rich people, while the medium business is pressed, fined so as this business is forced to be sold.
