“Maqur Yerkat Plant” OJSC intends to re-equip the plant of pure iron. The public hearings for the professional opinion and the opinion of the affected community head on the project documents of plant re-equipment will be held at 75 Artsakh St., Yerevan at 12:00 on 4 June. This will b the first public hearings for this project, but the project isn’t displayed on the official website of Nature Protection Ministry.
It should be mentioned that the plant operates in Yerevan, which processes molybdenum concentrate. Reminder: under the studies conducted by the Ecological Center for Noosphere Studies of NAS RA, the territories adjacent to “Maqur Yerkat” are polluted with heavy metals. Here the concentration of various heavy metals in dust significantly exceeds the maximum permissible concentration.
